Sajid Javid has been appointed Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, replacing Vince Cable, who lost his seat at the General Election. Javid, previously Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, also acted as Minister for Equalities. He has also held the post of Financial Secretary to the Treasury.
Before being elected in 2010, he worked in business and finance where his last post was as a senior managing director of Deutsche Bank.
The remainder of the BIS ministerial team has yet to be announced.
