Kemet has announced the expansion of its surface-mount, multilayer ceramic capacitor product portfolio in C0G dielectric with the addition of over 80 first-to-market part types. Capacitance values have been extended in 10, 16, 25, 50 and 100 Volt rated EIA 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210 case sizes and include capacitance tolerance offerings of F(±1%), G(±2%), J(±5%), K(±10%) and M(±20%). With an operating temperature range of between -55°C and +125°C, and with capacitance shift limited to ±30ppm/ °C over that range, these devices are a choice for audio applications. They are designed to provide circuit functions of critical timing and tuning-in applications, including mobile communications, automotive electronics, and power supply circuits. These products exhibit no piezoelectric properties as well as no capacitance change with respect to applied rated DC voltage or time. All parts are environmentally friendly, in compliance with RoHS legislation and are being offered in both commercial and automotive grades with 100% pure matte tin-plated terminations that allow for excellent solderability.

Green Hills Software announced that its product suite, including the MULTI version 5.0 integrated development environment (IDE), TimeMachine tool suite, Green Hills compilers, and SuperTrace Probe are now available for the Fujitsu FR60, FR70, and FR80 32-bit RISC microcontrollers.

 The solution consists of the following components:

     MULTI 5.0 integrated development environment and TimeMachine tool suite
     Green Hills FR compilers
     SuperTrace Probe for trace collection via the Fujitsu emulation environment

 About the Fujitsu FR Series Microcontrollers The FR family is a line of 32-bit RISC controllers that use a proprietary Fujitsu architecture and have functions optimized for embedded system control applications. The devices are used in applications such as automotive, industrial, PC peripherals and digital AV equipment.

Austriamicrosystems announces the product launch of its AS3658, a power and audio management unit with audio features. AS3658 offers an integrated solution for power supply generation, monitoring and battery management including charging. The charger can manage up to 1.6A charging current. USB, linear and step-down charging is available and supported by the battery isolation feature.

 The IC provides three DC/DC step-down converters, two DC/DC step-up converters, three LDOs suitable for RF applications, four digital LDOs, a charge pump and a backlight driver supporting a wide range of display sizes. AS3658 at the same time offers audio functions with a 18 bit audio DAC, a 16 bit audio ADC, a 5 band equalizer as well as headphone amplifiers, line-outputs, line-inputs, microphone inputs, audio mixer and several analog and digital audio interfaces.

 Moreover, a real time clock, 10 bit general purpose ADC and a touch screen interface are integrated to complete the feature set of AS3658. Due to customizable PROM programmable startup sequences the IC matches a wide variety of application processors.

 AS3658 is available in a BGA124, 8x8 mm, 0.5mm pitch package and is specified for -40° to +85°C ambient temperature.
