Solid State buys Ginsbury for £2.125million

Specialist industrial electronics distributor Solid State has acquired Ginsbury Electronics in a deal worth £2.125million.

Ginsbury, based in Kent, is a distributor of displays and power components whose portfolio is said to complement and strengthen that of Solid State. It also brings a team of experienced engineers which will continue to be based in Rochester, operating alongside Solid State Supplies and Steatite.

"There are many parallels between our companies in terms of the products we offer and our focus on supporting customers through technical know-how and design consultancy," said John Macmichael, pictured, managing director of Solid State Supplies. "We are particularly pleased to add Ginsbury's expertise in displays to our business; it's an area where we see much potential for growth."

Ginsbury's portfolio includes display units, monitors, panels, digital signage and power components.
