A free development tool from Microchip is said to allow designers to develop GUIs for products based on its PIC32 microcontrollers.
Called MPLAB Harmony Graphics Composer (MHGC) – and used in conjunction with Harmony Configurator and the MPLAB X IDE – the software allows branded branded content to be created using the Harmony Graphics Library, in conjunction with custom assets, to create GUIs on a WYSIWYG basis without complex coding.
MHGC is said to take care of all configuration requirements, while generating all the source code needed for the GUI. Users can import images and fonts and add them into projects via MHGC’s intuitive interface. The tool provides the ability to add, delete, move, scale and configure objects within the application. Objects can be interactive, including sliders, dials and buttons, and developers do not need to understand graphics code.
