STMicroelectronics made a notable impression at Electronica India 2024, unveiling a variety of innovative solutions across multiple sectors. A standout was the Ki cordless kitchen transmitter evaluation kit (STEVAL-KITXCB), a modular platform aimed at advancing wireless kitchen appliance technology. This kit supports NFC communication and enables wireless power transfer of up to 2.2 kW, offering a solution for cordless appliances like toasters, coffee machines, and induction cooktops. The kit includes key components like a power inverter board, auxiliary power supply board, NFC board, inverter microcontroller, power coil, NFC coil, and a GUI display board. Its modular setup simplifies testing and debugging for developers.
In the field of sensor technology, STMicroelectronics showcased its latest CH family of multizone Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors, including models like the VL53L7CH and VL53L8CH. These sensors are designed for AI-driven applications, offering precise distance measurement and object detection across up to 64 zones. With advanced Compact Normalized Histogram (CNH) data output, these sensors can be used in applications like motion tracking, shape recognition, and even detecting liquids and materials, making them ideal for smart technology solutions.
In the wireless domain, the STM32WB5MM-DK Discovery kit took center stage as a powerful platform for developing Bluetooth Low Energy, Zigbee, and Matter-compatible smart home devices. Featuring an Arm Cortex-M0+ CPU dedicated to radio and security functions and another Arm Cortex-M4 CPU with FPU and ART for other tasks, the kit includes an OLED display and a range of integrated sensors. It is designed for creating robust, interoperable wireless applications, especially in the smart home sector. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, Zigbee 3.0, OpenThread, dynamic and static concurrent modes, as well as proprietary 802.15.4 protocols.
STMicroelectronics also introduced the STM32WBA55G-DK1 Discovery kit, a platform tailored for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Audio applications. Based on the STM32WBA55CGU7 microcontroller, it supports BLE Audio and offers extensive expansion options with ARDUINO Uno V3 and STMod+ connectivity. With its low-power communication and advanced security features, the kit is ideal for developing energy-efficient wireless audio devices, as well as fitness, industrial, and medical applications.
