09:28Prognosis: German electronic industry 2007/2008
According to estimates of the ZVEI-Zentralverband Elektrotechnik und Elektronikindustrie [German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturer’s Association], the German electronic industry will grow in 2007 for the fourth year in succession. The turnover at the end of the year will be 184 bn Euro. The growth is set to continue in 2008. Thus, the ZVEI senior manager Gotthard Graß is counting on an increase of employees to more than 830,000.
Without the communication technology, the inland turnover of capital goods has grown in 2007 by 7%. However, the durable goods sector has stagnated, but consumer electronics will again show an increase in turnover at the end of the year. Automation and energy technologies will reach a double-digit turnover growth. Medical technology has grown by 15% in foreign countries with a similar decrease in Germany.
