Linear Technology has introduced the LTC2373-18, an eight channel, 18bit, successive approximation register (SAR) A/D converter sampling at 1Msample/s.
With an SNR of 100dB, the LTC2373-18 features a programmable sequencer that can store up to 16 control words for configuring the multiplexer and input range. This, says the company, provides the ability to mix and match fully differential and pseudo differential input ranges with a variety of channel configurations.
Single ended input signals may also be converted to the fully differential input range of the A/D converter's core by sharing an external driver circuit between the MUXOUT/ADCIN pins. This enables the user to obtain the full 100dB SNR performance on eight single ended inputs.
A member of the LTC2373 family, the part integrates a precision bandgap reference with low drift and a maximum temperature coefficient guaranteed at 20ppm/°C. It also features a reference buffer and is supplied in a QFN-32 package. It requires a 5V supply and consumes 40mW at 1Msample/s.
